So, I've been wanting to get HID kits for my truck, and I've been doing a lot of research, the two brightest bulb temperatures are 4300k and 5000k, does anyone know which one is actually brighter? 4300k has a "tint of yellow", while 5000k has a "tint of blue". Meanwhile, I've been looking at the colour of the 12,000k HID kits, and i really like the purple colour they give off. Will there be a huge difference in the amount of light given off from the two kits? I'm looking to get the HID that is best, if there is a big difference in light given off, I'll get the 5,000k temperature HID's, but if there's not that much noticeable difference, I'll get the 12,000k temperature, as i will be the only one, I've ever seen with this temperature. Not once have i seen 12,000k temperature. Ever.

What strength of light would you say the xenon lights are on sports cars like BMWs? I dont really want it to be changing color because its so bright(purple) but i just want it white like a BMW's xenon lights.

No one knows if there is a huge difference between the light given off by the 12000k, and the 5000k?

Pretty much it's just the color. The 5000k will be more white with a tint of blue maybe. The 12000k will give ya that purple look. Both are gonna be brighter than stock.

take a look at that and see if it explains things a lil better.

There is more than just kelvins and temperature, the way is works is simple the more Kelvin (color temperature) the less lumens (actual light) 12000k is pointless u will hate them stay at around 6000k if you want the best kits pre-fabbed for our trucks with the relay for the battery go to a&r motorsports website they are cheap and work well!

the higher the number (5000k-8000k-12000k) the dimmer they are. they will be more blue but not as bright especially when it rains stick with 4300-8000k imho
