    Default 04 Tahoe Taillights

    Hey Everyone,

I'm Chris, a student of Engineering built in 88.

My beloved car is an 04 Tahoe Z71:

I've had that car for over a year now and everytime I look at it's back I'm annoyed by the orange in the tail lights... I think a real American Car doesn't have orange turn signals, only Europeans do that..

Anyways, I was looking for ways to get rid of the orange and was wondering what you guys thught about LED Taillights?
I don't want it to look stupid and cheapish, but I've never seen these in real life up close...

    So, maybe you have?

These are the ones I can't decide between:

    no 1:

    no 2:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-...Q5fAccessories

    no 3:

So, please let me know what you think...
Of course I'm also open for other ideas / suggestions /...

    Thanks.
    God bless,
    Chris

first off you have a nice looking vehicle. and i agree with you on how the orange looks funny for the rear turn signals. (thank god GM went back to the red ones in the newer vehicles) obviously you should get what you want, but if i had to pick one of your three you listed, id prolly choose the second one. but thats just me. best of luck to you

Default Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Nice looking Ta. I have two Subs, an '04 and an '05 woth the same OEM tail lights. I'm not that crazy about the amber section either.

Those LED's in your post look really nice and of high quality. I think that I would tend to go with the first ones with the back-up light in the middle. It has a little bit more of a stock configuration. The other two models are nice, but they are just a little too custom looking for me. It looks like they go with those hub caps that keep spinning after the truck stops.

    hey everyone...
Thank you very much for all your nice comments.

    I just found a no. 4.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-...Q5fAccessories

I like that it looks like the escalade, but dislike the round reflectors, which make it look cheapish I think.

So we are down to no. 2, no. 3 or no.4

Um not much help, I guess.
But I like no. 2 and no. 4 the best, while my best friend is trying to convince me to buy no. 3.

Has anyone ever seen any one of these in real life?

    Thanks
    Chris

Nice Tahoe! Personally, I like #4 considering your have a black Tahoe. I think they would "blend" in better, but that's just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Since my best friend said the same thing I went ahead and bought those.
Let's see what they look like in real life when they get here.
I'll keep you posted, if interested.

    Hey everyone,
    the story continues:

So I got them and installed them, but then my cruise control did no longer work, only for a split second, and only when the turn signal was on...
    http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/sho...601#post171601

The dealer of course said that's not the way it's supposed to be, but I can't figure out what the problem is...
Now I have the OEM ones back in and everything is fine.
Has anyone here upgraded to LED taillights yet?

    @Mattdtrue: are yours LED?

Oh, and this is what it looked like (I liked it):
