Default *Please Read*Question about programmer for lb7

I know this is kind of vague but guy at the muffler shop said he would only put on a bully dog programmer with a sensor that is placed in exhaust system that automatically sets everything back to stock if it overheats or there is a problem. does anyone know what model he would be talking about. Alsowhat type of programmer does everyone else have and are you pleased with the results or worried about it turning your truck into a paper weight. Thanks.

I cant tell you about BullyDogs lastest tuners, but when I managed a custom truck shop back 5 years ago theowner of the shop had us send back all the BullyDog products because it seemed like everytime we installed a BullyDog product there was a problem. We went with all Banks products and we had no or minor issues. Most of the Banks issues turned out to be the truck manufactures made a change under the hood and Banks would send us the updated part, usually brackets or hangers.

that seems kinda hokie if he only will install one type of part / brand.
i'd find a new shop that will explain things to you and give you an informed decission
on what type of choice to make for what YOU want in your rig...

I do agree with the muffler shop about the automatic EGT cool down so you dont burn your turbo up.

Banks and Edge tuners both have the built-in EGT sensors. You do have to install the EGT sensor in the exhaust manifold. Go to BanksPower.com and watch the videos about the differant tuners. Good info.
