My truck running very wierd
Hello, recently my 00 Silverado with a 5.3 has started running very weird. Upon acceleration it hesitates and seems to stumble almost losing a ton of power. Than it will start running great again. It does this off and on while driving. I notice it up hills the most. I have ran 2 Lucas oil fuel cleaners through it and 2 bottles of dry gas. New fuel filter, new EGR valve. Check engine light is not on.
If anyone has had this problem before, please help me with what I should try to do next. Thanks, Alex

I would start with a fuel pressure and VOLUME check. Here are instructions for that...
Then everything these days is computer controlled and there are a lot of electrical sensors for this and that. Here is basic info on sensors...
So first is to check that the fuel system is providing enough fuel.
Then if all that tests OK, next would be to check electrical sensors which tell the computer to give the engine more fuel. These sensors would be (in general, you may not have all of these)...
Coolant temperature sensor - Lean/rich
Oxygen sensor - Lean/rich
Atmospheric (barometric) pressure - Lean/rich
Manifold Absolute Pressure - More fuel
(Mass Air Flow Sensor)
Throttle Position Sensor - More fuel
And these tests are done with a GM Factory Service Manual set for your year/model vehicle (order from helminc.com or a GM dealer), a fuel pressure gauge, and a multimeter. How to use a multimeter...
Now it may turn out that it is not a problem with the fuel system or those sensors, so that is why it is a good idea to use the factory manual and "test" these things. Then you could use the troubleshooting section in the factory manual to test other things. Then you just need to replace the faulty part. This saves money in the long run.92 GMC Sierra 2500
