Well in another thread I stated that I spun a bearing pretty bad not worth fixing the block or crank so I decided to buy a block with pistons and crank and just slap on the heads etc... so what blocks year and models can I use on my suburban? thanks.

I'm no expert, but I'd think that the short block from '96 through '99 would work for you. In '96 GM went to the 350R engine, which should be what your Sub' has. I had a '99 3/4 ton with the same engine. In 2000 GM went to the 5.3 engine line. Hope this is what you needed.
