    Default Help with EVAP Cleaning

    Hi all - I have 2005 Tahoe Z71.

This week I got a P0446 code, EVAP vent related. In addition, I've had a fuel smell outside the truck, and have been loosing pressure overnight. In another thread, the consensus was that I need to clean out the EVAP valve, as its most likely blocked.

So, I got under the truck, and to be honest, I'm not sure what to remove, clean, etc. Here is a diagram of what I'm looking at:

I assume #3 is the valve. After removing it, what is the proper way to clean it? Does it come apart? Do I just blow error into the "input" side of the valve?

    Thanks!

I hate to bump my own thread, but I'd love a little advice on this.

    Thanks!

Here you go. From what I understand the vent gets clogged with mud and dirt. Clean it as best you can.

Where is the vent located? Is this part of the solenoid?

Thanks for the picture, that's very helpful!!

I'm sure that if you were to look at it you would see the air intake. It's hard to see in the picture but crawl under your truck and get your hands dirty!

I don't see a canister or a valve anywhere in front of the gas tank, just a item with hard lines that looks like some kind of ABS controller?

Could the EVAP system be in another location on this truck?
