My 2007 Silverado came stock with 18inch rims, they are the special additions on the Z71's. Most of the other NBS trucks run the 17inch rims. I am looking at putting new rims on and havnt found any I like in 18's, they just look to big. Can I go with 17 inch rims? It wont mess up anything to major? Plus there are more tires available in 17inch sizes.

Yes I am looking for a beefier tire. I keep bouncing back and forth between what I want to do. I love the stock rims, but you can't fit a very wide tire on the 8" wide rim. I wanted to to with a 33X12.50 Toyo MT but the place I found said the minimum width is an 8.5" rim for that tire. If at all possible I'd like to stay with the stock rims, but just want to run a larger tire. Right now I'm looking at the Cooper STT's and the Toyo MT's. Just wish those 33X12.50's would fit on the stock rim.![]()

You might want to check with member -" LarryleeUSN". I believe he is running his stock rims with either 33's or 35's. He is on here quite a bit.

33x12.50 will fit on a stock 17" rim and they are 7.5" wide so they will fit on your 18"x8" rims no problem.

I had 32x11.50's on stock 7.5" wide rims on my old Bronco no problem.
Thanks guys, makes me feel a lot better to know I can run those tires. Does anyone have some pictures of a 33X12.50 tire on the rims that are on my truck? It does have a 2.25" leveling kit on it, so I have been told they will fit with minimal rubs. True?
Thanks Again

I have a 2008 silverado I bought 33x12.5r18 toyo mt tires they will not fit hit the upper control arms when the wheel is at full lock ended up going with 270x70 r18 toyo mt they still rub slightly when I am going in reverse at full lock like pulling out of my driveway but I can live with that
Ok, so I would be better to go with a 285/65 (33X11.5) tire? I assume hitting the upper control arm is a fairly major issue.
