I have a 1988 chevy silverado 1500, with power locks and doors. Just bought it! My question regards how to remove the door glass.( Passenger and driver if different.) I took off the vinyl panel, no problem. Now there is a metal panel that sits inside the door itself. Good idea right, that will make for easy acces, right? Well the problem is, the top track is connected to the smaller panel and the bottom of the window is connected to the door.
I am hoping to make this real easy, see. Actually I just need to replace the door lock, but do not want to wrestle around with the window in the door. the power lock actuator and the accompanying rods. I am going to go ahead and replace the power motor and anything else that can wear, hopefully this is the first and last time in the truck. The other problem is I saw a coil spring that looks like it has enough force to cut off a finger. How do I deal with that.
