Chev Suburban C10 1985 starting issue

Hello,

I'm renovating my Chevrolet Suburban 1985 C10 / c1500 2wd 1/2 ton 5000cc v8.
And i'm having starting problems.
When i start with the ignition key nothing happens, i only get a click from somewhere.
But when i connect the starter directly with the battery he starts immediatly.
I tried a new ignition lock but thats not the solution.

Anyone know when i can try ?


ps: anyone know where i can find the chassis no. on the chassis beam ?
