I was 9 years old and in 4th grade. I remember all the teachers going and locking all the doors and wouldn't let us out. i was mad i couldn't go outside and play. after school was over, i was about to go to soccer practice. I saw on the tv all the stuff that was going on and my mom and a friend of hers glued to the tv. i didn't know what was going on and was bored. i didn't understand the gravity of the situation until about 2 years later.2006 Silverado Z71 - 97,000 - totaled, RIP

Just stepped off a plan from Arizona to Utah. Family called to see if I was alright and that is when I found out what happened, then the airport was shut down.

9/10/01 8pm we have landed in Bay City Michigan for a two day business trip. The following morning I joined my partners in the breakfast room of the hotel. News was reporting the first of the two planes hitting the tower. We started a debate as to the cause... pilot error, malfunction, intentional. Our debate was ended we watched the second plane hit.
We didn't get much work done that day, and the trip was extended for several days as all traffic was grounded, then gridlocked for a while.

09/11/01 finshed my third midnight tour at 0800. Was getting my hair cut when plane struck the towers. Instead of sleeping I was affixed to TV. Couldn't sleep so I went to my new house under construction and affixed American Flag to peak. Watched military jets do circles over coast.
09/12/01 finished fourth midnight, responded to ground zero and worked "the pile" that was once Tower 1.
Still get choked up and angry thinking about it.
Lord, let us NEVER FORGET.

Equipment Bay of the shop on Minot Air Force Base. We were preping for a concrete job that morning. We all ended up in the break room watching the 2nd plan hit and then going out to the bay and grabbing our gear bags. We hung out for 2 days waiting to leave. Eventually got over to Kuwiait in 02 and set up living areas and refuling points just south of the Iraqi border for the inital invasion.
