I change my oil every 3-4k miles, but I never lube the chassis (or anything else for that matter). What places need to be lubed on a 2000 Silverado? What kind of grease do you suggest? Is there a specific 'gun' that you recommend?

I dont think you have to do that anymore.![]()

If I remember correctly, your tie rod ends are the only parts that have grease fittings.
I change my own oil as well and never lube anything and my truck has some god awful squeaks while driving.

1. 2003 Chevrolet Silverado - EXT Cab SB - LS - Z71 - Black - TRADED.
2. 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - GTP - Maroon - TRADED
3. 2002 Chevrolet Silverado - EXT Cab SB - LT - Red - TOTALED in accident.
4. 2003 Chevrolet Silverado - EXT Cab SB - LS - Z71 - Grey - CURRENT vehicle.
5. 2004 Chevrolet Silverado - EXT Cab SB - LT - Z71 - Grey - Owned for less then 24 hours and the engine threw a rod. Got Vehicle number 4 back.

Your vehicle has either 6,7,10, or 11.
6- if you have rack and pinion with the single drive shaft out back
7- if you have rack and pinion with the dual drive shafts out back
10- if you have an old style gear box and the single drive shaft out back
11- if you have an old style gear box and the dual drive shafts out back
Then if you've added anymore fittings, there would be more.

Sorry...I kinda hijacked the thread.

On a 2000 Silverado 3500 (old body style)
12 total
1 on the drive shaft
1 on the top and 1 on the bottom next to each tire
1 on the each tire rod end (both ends each side)
take the two bottom bolts out of the front skid plate, tilt it forward and you will find 3 more - one on each side and one more on the passenger side all the way up front) you can reach these from the top but it is a lot easier to go through the plate

Alright, I changed my oil today and lubed everything except the driveshaft. Where is the fitting on the driveshaft?
