My AC fan only blows air through the defrost vents on the top of the dash; no matter what position the control dial is in. I can change the amount of air, the type of air (AC, Outside Air, Defrost, Heat), turn on/off the AC, Max AC and everything else is fine with that one issue of the air only blowing through the defrost vents at the base of my windshield.

I called the dealership here in Denton and was told it could be one of two things, the AC Control head $670-700; or the "[COLOR=blue ! important][COLOR=blue ! important]Motor[/COLOR][/COLOR] under the dash" $450-500 to repair.

I'd like to see if A) the diognosis is at least somewhat accurate B) if either of these is something i can attempt myself (I am not affraid to open the hood but am limited in experience). C) what kind of time commitment would I be facing if I attempted it myself.
