I want to get a really good set of tires for this winter.I will be using the stock tire size what do you guys think the best would be?I also want some new shocks...something that will handle washboard type surfaces well and will tighten up the handling on the street at the same time. Thanks

That's the combo Im going with this winter. The Bilsteins are in and the tires on backorder. Tires will be studded.

The setup I am running on my S-10 is BFGoodrich AT's (stock size), with the Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks. I have been running this setup for 8 years on that truck, and it has made it's 2wd capabilities a lot better in the snow and rain. I add sand in the bed and it rides like a gem, I am going do this same setup on my Silverado also. It was a $1,000 investment, but it's made it up in some bad snow storms.![]()

Goodyear Duratracs, I am going with Monroe shocks on mine shortly the rears have a coil spring around it for extra support

The Bilstein 6500/2905 setup is about $250 shipped. They're an improvement over stock. Better valving for compression and rebound. They feel a bit more firm and tighten up the ride a bit without being harsh.
Have no idea on snow tires. If I never drive in snow again I'll be content with that. It's one reason I moved south...I'm actually looking for a tire that is more highway with good rain abilities. No off road or snow. Seems they don't make Michelin Pilot Sports for my truck. lol...

I am running Nokians WR tires on my Sub here in New England - year round. Best tire I've used. Used to switch over every fall to Blizzacks but these are much better riding wet or dry. Quiet too.
Thanks, for the replies.I will be getting the tires in a month or so and the shocks this week...from the beginning was planning on getting Bilsteins but now i'm torn between those and the Eldelrock Performer IAS anyone know which one is really better?Has any one had a set of each?

I can honestly say that I have never had a set of Bilstein shocks in my life, this is however my second set of the Edelbrock Performer IAS shpcks. I also had a set on my old Silverado, I would go with whichever one looks better to you.
I think I have decided after a lot of searching on the net that I am going to get the performer IAS.
