Hey folks,
Noticed when the wife picked me up from work that the 'Burb was making a clicking sound.
Got in, rolled down windows. turned off A/C and clicking went away.
Turned on A/C, clicking started immediately.
Turned off A/C, clicking stopped.
Turned on A/C, clicking started about 8-10 seconds later.
Etc, Etc.
I'm guessing it's the clutch in the compressor that's hanging up? It's still blowing cold air, and I can only hear it with the windows open, so should I just continue as is? I'm guessing it'll cost the same to fix it now as it will when it finally gives it up.

dont worry about it. roll up the windows and crank up AC/DC.
when the ac belt and tensioner breaks from the seized compressor and then twists itself around the water pump, breaking both water pump and water pump belt, thus overheating the engine, ruining it, you can slap yourself and say" i am a stupid idoit"!!
Well, there's no more clicking, and no more cold air.
Clutch plate is not spinning anymore so I can only assume that the pressure switch is doing it's job by not letting it engage with little or no charge in the system.
Gonna' take it to my local A/C guy to have him find the leak in the system.
Mike....doesn't listen to AC/DC, so to the helpful fellow above, sorry, your suggestion wouldn't have worked for me.Wouldn't want to be considered an "idoit," whatever that is.
