Hey guys,
So after my last truck having an exhaust, and my new one not, I am having withdrawls lol.
Anyways, I was thinking of runnin a dual cat back kit from ebay, but I think with a body lift the tips will hang too low for my liking. Agree? Disagree?
I was thinking to save a few bucks, I can get sweet deals on magnaflow and flowmaster mufflers with my auto store cash accounts, so how would putting a muffler on stock piping sound? its 2.75" pipe correct? Then just modify the tail pipe a little to look good with a tip.
Also what muffler? I am like fairly loud, my last was flowmaster, so I was thinking magnaflow this round.
Is one option gonna sound much better then the other?
Thanks
SS

I put a Cherry Bomb Turbo on my stock exhaust and it sounds good, much better than stock. Got the muffler real cheap on Summit.com, I think it was like 25-30 bucks and then had the local muffler shop weld it in for another 50. If I could do it again I would probably have replaced the stock muffler with a Glasspack just to get it a little louder.

Its gonna hang lower because of the body lift, but you could keep everything tucked inbetween the frame rails and just not have a visible exhaust. Just add the muffler and add a few feet of pipe with a turn down before the spare tire, so kinda right above the diiferrential.

I decided to add just a muffler and tip, but do I need a new tail pipe. Muffler I want to order from magnaflow is part #12259. I believe I just need exhaust adapters but do i need a new tail section? I would like to keep everything as simple as possible.

You should be fine, unless the shop screws it up or the pipe is already damaged in some way, but then just get a factory tail section and you will be fine

I am going through withdraw myself. I used to have a Magnaflow Superflow Cat piped to a Flowmaster 40 Series. I miss that sweet tune. I was looking into an exhaust for my new Tahoe but my buddy told me that the Tahoe has a stainless exhaust.I don't want to put a steel muffler in that will rot and I don't have the dough for a full new exhaust right now
I have used Corsa's on several of my cars and trucks and now have Flowmasters on my 1988. In my honest opinion, nothing comes close to the sound of Corsa. I have them on my 2008 Mustang Bullitt. You can hear it on my Youtube video at: http://www.youtube.com/user/ParisTND.../0/4WScK-dCm7g Check it out!
