Default This mod will NOT turn on the compass and outside temp function Nobody knows how to

I have not found anybody that can tell me how to activate the compass and outside temp functions for these trucks.

I have a 2010 gmc....I push the TOP button and it cycles through several separate pieces of information. The compass and temp gauge is located with the odometer.

If I push the botton again then the trip odometer A comes up, if I press it again then the trip odometer B comes up. Then a timer, and a few othe rpieces of info for each press of the top button. So press the top button to cycle through and see if the odometer and compass/temp come up. Either that or check your manual. good luck

For mine, these items are located in my rearview mirror and are not a function stemming from the DIC. What type/year of vehicle do you have?

I think that these two pieces may or may not be part of the vehcile PCM, so they're not directly related to the DIC. It's like trailer gain, that's part of the DIC if you have a factory trailering package, but if you don't ... then it's not part of the DIC.

I'm asking some guys at the Chevy Dealer to see what they say and what it takes to make certain you have the compass and temp.

You'll need a Comp/Temp mirror (has the compass circuitry built in), a temperature sensor to add behind your grille, and some additional wiring from the sensor up to the mirror.

How much is the DIC panel now? still the $68 I seen on the first page?

no, that was a couple of years ago so I think it's like $76 or something. Either way, go to your local dealer and they'll tell you that it's not going to work (but it will!) and if they do sell it to you, maybe $125-140.

I never saw this before but I'm shocked at how easy it is to do. I was going to pull the trigger but then I read about how accurate it was and a lot of disappointed in it's accuracy. What has been your guys experience with the accuracy of the DIC?
