Hello,
I searched the forums but didn't find a answer to my question so I thought I would post this, it maybe answered somewhere that I didn't look so be kind as I am new.
My truck is a 1993 K1500 4x4 Suburban with a fuel injected 350. When I bought it 2 months ago the oil gauge read a steady 200 except on a cold start where it ran for a few minutes at about 300. Now I am blowing oil out around the rocker covers, and the pressure is always between 300 and 400 cold or warm even when the oil is low. I am not even sure where to start on this, I have never had this problem on a truck. The oil filter is not ballooned, yet. Any ideas as to where I should start?

300 kPa is 43 PSI. That is just right. The oil coming out around the valve covers means you just have bad gaskets. The valve covers are not pressurized, so even if you did have high pressure, it wouldn't cause them to leak.
Did you do an oil change since you bought it? Probably had old crappy oil in there, and now it feels better.
When you hear hoofbeats, look for horses not zebras.
Thank you for the information. I hate the used truck fears. I am always worried about every noise, leak and odd feeling when I first buy a truck, as my dad says you are buying somebody's problems when you buy used. Once she is not dripping I will be happy.
