Default O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction

Got this error code today for bank 2 sensor 2. Which 02 sensor is bank 2 sensor 2 on a 1998 silverado 5.7 3 door? Anyone know what causes this error? Thanks I have inspection Friday and need to get this fixed.

Here's a diagram. The code sets when the computer sees the sensor is not heating. When the sensor is heating the voltage should drop to zero. It's not uncommon for these sensors to burn out but check the fuses and connections before you replace the sensor. A good scanner that shows data would be a big help as you could watch the data feedback and voltage feedback to the PCM.

sensor 1 bank 1 = left side before cat
sensor 1 bank 2 = right side before cat
sensor 2 bank 1 = left side after cat
sensor 2 bank 2= right side after cat

o2 sensors start to go out at around 75k, u might as well just replace it. they run around $90 and are very simple to remove. just unplug and unscrew it from the exaust pipe, i recommend you get an o2 sensor socket as they are very worth the money
