    92 Chevy Suburban 2500 4x4 w 454

    Anyone know of a good place to update the computer? My truck is not towing for crap.

    Also what are some of you advacing the spark and timing to?

    I have new wires, rotor cap and spark plugs.

    What esle can i do to get some better performance outtah this pig??/

    Welcome to the site! It is a little expensive, but have you looked at the Banks system? For the big block and towing Banks makes some really effective products. There are some "tuners" on this site who can possibly do your computer, also. Good luck!

    The timing is controlled by the ECM. Normally you do not have control over this setting.

    A couple of things you should check out.


    Why should I add a 160 degree thermostat and LT-4 knock module?
    Written by
    The 160 degree thermostat will run the engine cooler and will help eliminate any knocks and pings that can be associated with higher engine temperatures. The LT-4 knock module assists the PCM in eliminating false knock that is picked up from noise in the engine area that is not knock. Things such as after-market ignitions, loud exhaust, roller rockers, misadjusted rockers, wear in the valvetrain, etc... can cause false knock due to their noise. This causes timing retard and robs you of horsepower! Many Impala club members have seen 4-10 horsepower gains depending on how much false knock they were getting.
