2wd or 4wd 07+ Suburban-which is easier to lift?

Obtaining a lift for a 4wd Suburban would probably be significantly easier than trying to get one for a 2wd, simply because people typically want a lift for the increased ground clearance when off-road. However, a 2wd lift MAY be easier to install than a 4wd lift depending on the method each uses to provide the additional lift.

I currently have a lifted 00 4wd Excursion and with the ford trucks, yah, the 4wd gets a bigger lift and I don't know if it is easier to install compared to the 2wd. I don't want to assume that with Chevys. From my limited knowledge, 2wd lifts max out at around 6" and throws off the wheel geometry. I am finding out some Chevys come with torsion bar front suspension and I am not at all familiar with that. I just need to know before hand where I should be focusing my attention. Thanks for the reply.

i no buletproof makes lfts for both and they are huge

"easier" is really a relative term...easy for outlaw offroad here in SoCal to lift my 07 4wd ltz 6" and slap 20x10 wheels with 34" tires on it...yes....easy for me to convince wifey we needed to spend the money to do it...no not easy

why in the hell would you lift a 2wd truck in the first place?

Maybe he just want's the look of a lifted truck but doesn't need 4WD? It's his truck, let him do what he wants with it. I know if I didn't need 4WD and had a 2WD truck I would still put at least a small lift on it. But around here, 4WD is a must.

pre-runner look is hot (if that’s what he’s after) and in terms of functionality you don’t always need 4WD - maybe you just want ground clearance. And even if it is purely for aesthetics that’s OK too – we all do things to our rigs simply because we like the way it looks…I’m guilty of that and I see from your signature you are too

the ironic thing is he may go offroad with his two wheel drive truck more than I do or you do in our lifted AWD/4WD rigs -
