Default where to get a alternator and other parts

Ok I've got a 06' silveradowith the 5.3 in it. Is it better to head to the dealership and get a alternator or to hit a auto parts store (advanced, autozone, napa)? Well let me back up a little bit. I just picked the truck up on friday and already have a nice squeak. I replaced the idler pulley yesterday. Some of the squeak is gone at idle , as soon as i give it some fuel it starts the nice tune of squeakin. I think i have narrowed it down the the alernator. Thus the new thread, where to get parts.

I did my last alternator for the burb in the parking lot of an AutoZone. The alternator literally fried while out of town. Zip into the nearest Azone and 45 min later I was back on the road.
