A guy I work with has an '05 GMC Sierra with the Duramax diesel. It's been skipping out at around 50-55 mph, engine shudders and runs rough. The dealer told him that 4 of the injectors are bad. They suggest replacing all of them, to the tune of around $6K! The truck only has 140,000 on the odometer, not what one considers high mileage on a diesel.
Doesn't sound right, does it?

My buddy has an 06 Duramax with 140k miles and he has been replacing 1 injector at a time as they fail. I don't know exactly what he is paying, but I think it is in the $200 $300 per visit to the garage. He is unemployed so his budget can't stand the price for having all the injectors replaced.
Since your friend has four down, he may want to go ahead and have them all done, but I'd shop that price around if you don't have a mechanic that you take all your business to.
There is no way to happiness....happiness is the way.
