09 gmc 2500 4x4 front end
I have a 2009 gmc 2500 4x4 that i want to put a plow on. I know the trucks sit low already in the front end. what is a good remedy to raise / lift the front end in anticipation for the plow?

Well I take it you have a gas motor? I have a deisel in mine and what i did was add a set of Timbren's (found here: http://www.centralparts.com/Accessor...spension-Kits/) and then I turned my torsion bars up about 6 turns. You should only have to go about 4 turns the D-max engine weighs about 450 pounds more than the gas motor. This all depends on how heavy your plow is and how high you put the mount on the front end. Another option is a Leveling Kit, it should raise the front end with new torsion keys, 2"-3" depending on the leveling kit you get.

stiffer shocks/struts/springs?2000 silverado with a 5.3l v8, shorty headers, upgraded plugs, 10 mil wires, magnaflow high flow cats, flowmaster 80 series muffler(2 in 2 out) w/ 18 inch stainless silverline tips. i have a k&n CIA. its a 4x4 z71 offroad package. Ls model.
extended cab 160k miles, truxedo low profile bed cover, diablo sport predator tuner.
reman tranny @ 130k miles

Must have the Timbren!! This is the first thing you need. Maybe the only thing you need to buy.

A level kit will not help with the weight of the plow. GM's need help in the front for plows. You may also want to look at welding some triangle braces behind the upper control arm. There have been a lot of broken frames on GM's from plowing. They use to have this on older models but not the new ones. I have mine cut and ready to weld on. As soon as I get to it I will post some pictures for you.

the level kit wont do anything for the plow weight. The timbrens would be good or look at www.firestoneindustrial.com for a set of front airsprings. then you can adjust the height with or without the plow.David
