Default Who else would buy one of these?

I want one! I didn't know Chevy wasn't making them. I had an 84 that had a 6.2 in it, and I have seen some that had the 6.5's. Why would Chevy quit putting diesels into Suburbans? Doesn't make sense to me.

i think its more that back in the 80's puckups werent that popular it was rare to find a crew cab not being used as a fleet truck and just as rare for an extended cab truck, a diesel suburban was more of a use, know pickups have taken over as the family vehilce and there is way more versatillity, not to mention the average person that needs a suburban isnt gonna drop another 7-10 grand to have a diesel and the allison tranny installed, when a low end suburban 4x4 will run you 40k without blinking. But believe me, I would LOVE to have a Duramax and Allison tranny in a new suburban!!

I've been watching Buff's site for a couple of years. Early this year, or late last year, he had a Quadrasteer Dmax that I begged my wife to buy.

Hmmmm...$70K and a trip to Colorado, or feed the kids. I guess she had a point.

Check out his site, though, he usually has at least one for sale and pictures of ones already gone.

Quadrasteer would be even better. I've never driven a truck with that, but it seems like it would rock. I did a google search for one of those for sale, no luck, but I did find one of the 6.5 models that was full right hand drive, and if I was in Wyoming, the one listed there is almost the same as what I used to have. I would buy that again in a heartbeat.

my dad has always wanted a Duramax Surburban but they're pretty rare. I think its more of a special order from the factory....

I have seen a guy on the net in Texas or some where that will put a duramaxx in anything you have for around 10 grand. Do a google surch for a diesel swap and you should find it.

Checked into it also, between 70-80 grand... I don't think so.. and no from 2000 up they do not make them from the factory, if so I would be in line for one. They are a total custom.... The guy in Texas for ten grand??? is that supplying the drivetrain and or suburban? Like I said I researched it and found them extremely costly and financially not feasible....
