Default New member intro - 99 Suburban

My name is Justin. I live in the Sacramento, California area.

I have a 99 Suburban 1/2 ton w/4 wheel drive. Haven't driven it a lot since owning it, but am having problems with it, and figured I'd join a club.

I'm usually well versed on working on cars, but not on differentials and drivelines..

Not sure if I should post a problem here.. or in another forum, so I'll leave it for another forum.

    Nice to be around..

    Welcome, Justin.

There are specific suspension and Suburban sections in the forum, so post away.

There are lots of well versed folks here, so you should have answers soon.

    Good luck,

Welcome aboard. Come to the suburban, myself and many others have dealt with drivelines in the 96-99 suburbans, so fire away in the Suburban section.

    Default Wow!! Thank you!

WOW, thank you all, for the warm welcome!

I finally got the old drive line out a junkyard model, and I'll drop my own. Mine had a wobbly pinion gear and my untrained analysis of other postings suggested that the cost of fixing this may go higher than a junkyard axle. In addition, there were lots of cautions about how easy it is to mess things up even for an experienced driveline tech. (so I was scared off from repairing my own - for now).

I think i'm going to remove this driveline and actually rebuild it (without the time constraints I'm facing now.)

So I will be sure to ask you all for help on this.

Thank you again for such a warm welcome!!

    Justin
