ticking in engine bay heard in cab when driving

i think it is an alternator bearing but it is in sync with engine revolutions(1 tick per 1000rpm), just a tick, tick, tick and speeds up with rpm's as well, this doesnt sound like a rocker or anything engine mechanical, it sound more of a pully or drive belt system tick

4.3 v6 is the engine

Check the plug wires.

There's a small shroud, I think it's a heat shield on the passenger side at the base of the engine block, it made ticking noises on mine, you could check that if you get time.
