    Default Coolant Hoses - Recommendations

My '97 350 Vortec blew one of the coolant hoses yesterday. Replaced it with one from the parts store to get home however I noticed it was in need of replacement and many of the lines seem to be long in tooth. Although vehicle only has 120K I would like to replace them as it is cheap insurance.

Does anyone have recommendations on a good brand?

Unfortunately I cannot afford to do everything with braided lines so want to do the next best thing.

Forget the braided lines. They are for car shows anyway. What you want to use are the hoses that are used on emergency vehicles like police cars and ambulances. High temperature silicone hose. This stuff lasts a long time. I have these hoses on one of my vehicles and the hoses are like new although they are 10 years old!

    Default Goodyear Hi-Miler hose kits

I'm a big fan of the Goodyear Hi-Miler hose too. You can get hose kits from places like Summit Racing. For $60 - $70 you get good looking hoses that last a long time. btw they are made from EPDM ethylene propylene diene Monomer.
