U joints??
I hauled a load in the back of the truck for the first time today. It was only about 200 lbs but I was getting a god awful grinding/squeaking noise at random. Seemed worse during right hand curves. On the way home after dropping the load, nothing. No sound at all.
I would think u joints but why would right hand curves make the sound worse?? It seems to be coming from an unspecified location under the truck. I thought wheel hub initially but don't feel anything in the steering wheel. Help, lol.2000 GMC Sierra Z71 ext. cab w/5300, 70K miles

Could quite possibly be the U Joints, but, is the truck independent front suspension? If so, then the right front CV halfaxle/axleshaft could be going out. Hope this help.
Hmmm... was your load tied down? Right hand corners could cause the load to slam into the side of the bed... LOL. Sorry, the redneck came out.Last edited by J.mesenbrink; 10-27-2009 at 02:16 AM.
