    Default JUst aquired A 2003 Silverado 2500

    I just recieved this Tow Pig with 210XXX for the price of free!! The trucks a crewcab and has the 6.0 Engine. Its toward the end of its life and my 4 cyl Ford Ranger is my daily driver/worktruck but im going to utilize the Silverado to pull my 5000 lb trailer and to make trips to the landfill. She starts and runs with no worry of a breakdown but the trannys slowly dying and I need a new gauge cluster. The gas guage and tach don't work. Also sometimes the speedo also quits working. My mechanic basicly told me that I shouldn't do a tranny flush because the sludgy crap is whats holding it together. but the truck has been towing trailers since new and wasnt maintained well so what can you expect?

    03-04s had bad stepper motors, but if u wanna fix that cluster there is a guy on ebay who fixes them for like $70, he did mine and even added the escalade faces and they work great!

    Im not sure. Im gonna try and run this one til it completely dies. for the time being it was be doing occasional towing so very few miles. my normal 500 plus miles a week will be put on my Ranger.
