I just bought a 4l60E transmission from a local well known transmission rebuilder. Anyhow, the bell housing bolts match-up to the engine block but everything else doesn't fit - flywheel too big, ect ect.
Now I'm curious what vehicle my "new" transmission is from. The serial numbers that I can find (the tranny was painted over) are:
Tranny - #24207965
Bell-housing - #24206579
Tail- #24200875-5
4L60E and M30 with the number 43 stamped on tranny
If anyone can figure out where this transmission is from I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You,

What kind of vehicle are you trying to bolt this transmission into? What kind of transmission does it have now? What kind of flywheel do you have? The numbers you posted are casting numbers and not much help. GM has used many different flywheels and torque converters over the years so you just need a matched set. A little more info would be helpful.
