My son's truck accelerator went limp and the whole thing quit running. Tried restarting and runs for 5-10 seconds and quits again when he tried to push the accelerator some. Lights and gauges are working so I'm thinking Fuel pump or Computer. I know I can't afford a thousand dollar repair right now. Anyone have any thoughts?
might be the fuel pump startin to go out.... my .02

No sense in guessing. Start with the basics:
- Check for spark (At the plug)
- Check for timing (Depends on model/year/engine)
- Check for fuel (Use a fuel pressure gauge to test the actual pressure) The smell test doesn't work here.
The other ingredient for an internal combustion engine is air, but we assume that is available.

In addition to unplugged's suggestions, since it seems evident that we are talking about something new enough to have a "computer" in it, I'd probably also pull codes and/or put a scanner on it to see if the computer has any thoughts on the matter.
