    Default 2003 Z71 Silverado LS

Hi my name is Rich and I just got this truck a few weeks ago and truly love it. I'm 23 and have worked my way up from a 87 Chry. Lebaron so I'm darn proud of myself. I am the type of guy who likes doing things on his own so it's taken sometime to get here but I had a 00' 2dr Jimmy 4x4 and I felt it done great in the snow and offroad here and there. I'm no off roader really, just liking playing around here or there, it's my DD (daily driver) so I plan on keeping it moderate.

I would like to put 33's or 35's on it (something that wears good yet will hold it's own off-road or in snow). It currently has Nitto Terra Grapplers<? (not sure if they are grapplers, for sure Nitto Terra something) 285/75's on it with stock rims and they don't even come close to rubbing. So that makes me wonder if it has keys or cranked, and after looking at the rear leafs they have a bar (block) in there so I'm not to sure it hasn't been tinkered with. The front still has a slant to it so I think it's stock but after alot of people saying 285's won't/shouldn't fit it has me wondering. Either way here is my baby.

    BTW, 5.3 + G80 = The ****

This is the only pic I have thus far (from the dealerships website)

i was able to fit 285s on when mine was completly stock with no problems so your not the only one..as for the rear they came from the factory with a block.and if the front still has a slant to it the keys probably havent been cranked..i think next time i need tires im gonna try to fit 305s or maybe 315s(if its not lifted by then)

    welcome by the way!

Sweet that's what I was wanting to hear (about the factory block). So do you just loosen the U-bolts and swap out blocks when adding to the rear? I think I'll have the front re-indexed (Torsion keys) and see how it sets before I add blocks to the rear. I don't want it to just sit higher with the same slant!

    Thanks for the welcoming.

Maybe you could check out my electronics post and give me a hand with that too

no problem!i swapped out my keys with new ones from rough country and the front ended up a little higher than the rear haha so i installed add-a-leafs to raise the rear and it evened out perfect..but yes you can just swap out the blocks with taller ones..i think with my set up i gained about 2-2.5 inches..not much but i can definatly tell a difference and looks more like a truck now!

Welcome to the site! Nice to see another '03-'05 Silverado! As far as tire size goes 285/75/16 will fit without any lift. If you are going to do a leveling kit I can speak for Pro Comps torsion key kit, I was very pleased with mine and my truck sits perfectly level with no addition to the rear. Just remember if you go with larger tires, tire width and wheel offset are the most important factors to avoid rubbing issues.
