Remote Door Locks ????
Any way to tell if my '97 Silverado came equipped with remote door locks ??

Well if it had an integral alarm, remove the positive battery cable. When you reconnect the battery cable the alarm should set and the doors should lock.
Otherwise pull door panel and look for door lock motors.There is no way to happiness....happiness is the way.

How I determined that my 97 had remote unlocking was to list my RPO codes in the glove box. I forget which code indicates remote unlocking, but is should be on there. Once you get the RPO codes, then do a google search. There are several sites that will decipher the codes for free
I was able to buy a remote from a Chevy dealer for about 45.00 and they programmed it for free. Do call around as I got a wild swing in prices. My local GMC dealer, which is one of those huge mega complexes, quoted me $60.00 for the remotes and $80.00 to program it!!!
