Posi in a 1995 Tahoe?
Hey guys, I'm just wondering if the 1995 tahoes came with full time posi rear ends? I've got a 1995 2 door ls, 5 speed, with the 5.7L TBI. I had axle seals done a while back and the guy said he had a hard time taking apart a "locker" he couldn't get apart. Also, I've whipped the back end multiple times. I'm talking 15 mph 2nd gear, cutting it more than 90 degrees and It's real hard to spin. I've also dumped the clutch as high as 2700ish with nothing more than a short squeek. granted I was running some 75% worm Goodyear workhorses, but still... I'm almost positve it's a full time posi, just looking for some reassurance, thanks guys

Look at the RPO codes in your glove box. G80 means you have a limited slip diff which is also known as an Eaton Gov-Lok Posi.

GM has used the G80 locking differential for some time. It is a clutch type unit with a centrifugal locking mechanism. Check out the earlier post here for a video demo of the capabilities of the G80: http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12272

alright, thanks guys. i literally can't get them to spin lmao, and i mean I've roasted some rubber in a dodge truck, and I know mine has much more power, but I'll check it out. thanks again!
