I have a 2002 Silverado 1500 4X4, extended cab, 6.5" bed Z71. Occasionally, from a full stop, when i add gas to move I feel a stight delay before axle starts turning and i begin to move. i took it to my Chevy dealer, they put it on the rack, pulled the differential cover and checked gears, checked ujoints, put it in gear while on the rack, but could find no issues. Took the truck to my local mechanic, he couldnt find anything either. Any thoughts?

sphillips, I think my 2k is doing the same thing. At first I though my transmission was slipping but I don't think that is the case.
Any chance these rear axle could have some sort of clutch in it?

Thanks for the replies folks. The dealer had no idea what could be the cause of the apparent slippage. The rear end is a GT4 according to the sticker in the glove box. After the dealer was finished, he said there was nothing wrong with the truck, which i new was not true. I took to my local mechanic, he confirmed the issue, put it on the rack, but found nothing obvious from the input to the rear of the tranny thru the differential.
The transmission itself is obviously slipping. Mine did the exact same thing the other day but I thought it was my imagination at the time until I started finding other similar topics in this and other truck forums.
