I have a 4.3L Vortec in my 94 Sierra, how hard would it be to swap in a GM Diesel taking into concideration having to change the fuel lines and a little of the wiring and for sure the running gear, would it drop in?
I believe you would have to redo the front end to handle the motor and the allison tranny...
You would be better to find a use diesel truck. Maybe trade in your trk for a diesel...
Good luck!

This would need to be a very detailed swap.
At a guess yours is a 1/2 ton truck, so the front suspension would need to be replaced. The original suspention isnt strong enough to support the additional weight of a Diesel engine.
The rear axle would probably be toast the first time you hit the throttle real heavy.
The rear suspension would need upgrades to handle the additional torque.
The front frame rails arent sufficient enough for the added weight.
If your really set on a Diesel powered truck your best option would be to buy one built at the factory, the truck you have would cost a lot and take a lot of work to properly convert.
