1990 Suburban... How Can I Get The Hood Open?
I just bought my first every Suburban. Its a 1990 1500 Silverado version. Anyways I need to change the headlight and went to pop the hood and the pull trigger is not releasing. I have had someone push down whle I pulled but it feels disconnected. How can I get the hood open? Thank you!

you can open it by going underneath the latch with a screwdriver. You cant see, it is very hard to get to, and you have to get just the right spot. It basically sucks. Good luck. Sometimes the hood cable breaks off at the handle in the cab- you can grab the cable with a pair of pliers, if that is the case.

take apart the actual pull lever for the hood inside the truck and use a vice grips to grab the cable and pull on it, most likely the cable has been stretched over the last 20 years of use.99 K1500 Suburban LT "THE BEAST"
