    Default Question about TOW/HAUL

I have always been told not to pull a trailer with a vehicle that has an auto tranny in the overdrive position. I have a 2000 Suburban 1500. If I activate the TOW/HAUL does this keep the tranny from shifting into OD or is it just an electronic controller that causes it to shift at higher rpms?

it will keep ur truck out of o.d till ur up to higher speed around 60 i beleave plus changes shift points. usually i still tow in 3rd with tow haul on unless im on the highway. but it works well as far as knowing when to go in od or not

The tow / haul button keeps the converter from locking, heating the trans up and burning it up. It also changes the shift points and several other things, all of which add up to just leave it in overdrive, and the truck will be fine.

Even with the Tow/Haul activated I have always shifted the truck manually into third before going up or down a grade
