    Default '97 silverado engine knock

    Ive got a '97 silverado and just recently found out my intake gasket is leaking. Along with that the engine now has a loud knock and i need to figure out whats caused it and what should be my first approach. Any ideas?

    Use a mechanics stethescope while the engines running to isolate where the engines knocking from.

    I know its comming from the left bank and is a rod knock

    then that leak should'nt be a problem the engine gasket kit that you buy when you have the motor rebuilt will have the intake gasket

    99 tahoe 2 dr. 4x4 7.4 4L80-e NP246, SAS, dana 60 hp, sterling 10.5 rear, gibson headers, and alot of tricks of the trade !!!!!!IF YOU'RE NOT CHEATING YOUR NOT TRYING!!!!!!!!
