    Did this ever get worked out? I'm looking at a 2006 Trailblazer EXT with the 5.3 v8 and I wanted to know what you came up with.

    There were several questions asked in this thread. I'll try to address each, but if I miss one, let me know...

    Whistling - No resolution yet, but I have to replace a knock sensor and will have the intake off. I'll fix it while I'm in there
    Air Ride Leveling - Instructions that were posted solved that one. I just adjusted one side and it is okay now
    EVAP Code - I used a friend's scan tool to reset the code. It has not come back on.

    Honestly, while I've had a few annoying issues (whistle and knock sensor), the truck has been virtually maintenance free. I also own a 1999 Silverado with a 5.3. I abuse that one (heavy hauling, towing, goofing off, etc.) and it seems to be a very solid engine.
