Need Tips on Replacing Motor Mounts
I'm new to this forum, and look forward to meeting and learning from the pros on this site.
I just bought a '96 GMC Suburban 1500 2wd with 213K on the clock. The engine was sitting low on the right side due to a broken mount, so low that the exhaust manifold severed one of the wires of the crankshaft position sensor harness, as it was routed between the manifold and the frame rail.
I have the engine lifted by floor jack and have managed to get the long bolts removed from both mounts. I'm now trying to get at the short bolts and nuts that hold the mount brackets to the frame, but the lower control arms are in the way. I might be able to get at them with swivel sockets and extensions, but it looks like it's gonna be a bitch of a job.
Would appreciate a few tips on where to go from here...
