correct transfer case?
Hey merry Christmas everyone!!! I am STILL trying to PIECE my 88 chevy 4x4 together.... Freshly Rebuilt rearend... Just picked up a professionally rebuilt 700r4, and NOW i find out as we are putting the tranny in that the transfer case is THRASHED!!!! not sure what the previous owner did to it.. but it is messed up so bad my mechanic doesnt think it is safe to rebuild! SO i have been checking craiglist and ebay... aside from a HUGE price range.... how do i know what years will work on this 88 chevy, and which model numbers are correct???
PLEASE HELP... thanks all....

My truck is a couple of years older but I've got a 700r4 tranny with a np208 transfer case behind it. Its a chain driven case that you can shift on the fly. Try one of the 4 wheel forums those guys can point you in the right direction just off of some of the discussions that they have. good luckBailey, KS
