Question Exhaust: Has anyone done this?

I say this on an episode of Trucks a long time ago and always thought it was pretty cool. Just wondering if anyone has done/seen this before?

A guy I work with has a 2001 Camaro Z-28, and it has the LS1 motor in it. He has a set of Kook's long tube headers, and he also has dual electric cut outs and It sounds awesome. When he street races he opens them up, and he can run open headers until he sees a cop and then closes them back up. Although he did have one get stuck open one time, and that was kind of funny because he got a fix it ticket to remove them.

Years ago I had a set of cable actuated cut outs on a mid 70's Chevy truck, they rusted and leaked after about 2 years and almost never wanted to open or close.
The new ones are a lot better quality and electronic actuation makes it easier to use.
I didnt notice a performance improvement but to a 19 yr old kid it sure sounded faster.
