    Default intermittent shift problem

    have a 95 3/4 ton chevy suburban w/140,000miles. can anyone tell me what would cause the tach and speedo to go crazy and the 4l80e tranny not to shift..... sometimes. thanks

    You probably have a bad ignition switch. Common problem on these trucks. To check it hook up a volt meter to the transmission fuse. Watch the volt meter while cranking the engine. If the voltage drops below 9 volts you have found the problem.

    no fuses labeled transmission. inside or out. am i looking for something labeled differently?
