2003 1500HD Stereo change questions?
I have 03 1500 HD and I am wanting to change out the stock stereo for an aftermarket one. I am wondering if there is a way to keep my steering wheel controls and all warning chimes working when i use an aftermarket stereo? If anyone can give me websites on installation details and products availible that would be great.

i work at a stereo shop and thats the only brand we carry. granted some of the modules have had problems, they are man made just like all electronics, therefore they are subject to defects. You run the risk of problems with any product but in my experience of over 500 radio installs they are a good product.

metra is by far the best wiring harness' out there. as far as your sw controls PAC is the anwser. pending on what brand of radio you choose will depend wich sw adapter you'll go with. if your a DYIer, i do recomend the sw controls to be professionaly installed.
if you have any questions on radios feel free to ask. ive got 10 years in the bizz.
oh, not to be a buzz kill or anything..but expect to pay around 150-200 on all your adapters and harness, dash kit, antena adapter and what not. i only say this so it doesnt shock ya later.
but these are must haves.

Flowmaster true duals
Viper 5900 alarm w/ remote start
Pioneer AVICF90BT w/ nav
