    Question Torque management question

The CTS-V has 551 LB/FT torque and 6L90E trans. 6.2L trucks have same trans, why are trucks torque managed when they don't have anywhere near that amount of torque?

Cant answer for sure but i would guess that part of it is due to the rear end, the CTS-V is gonna have a much stronger rear and axle shafts out back. My second guess especially for 4x4 is to not tear the t-case up, jusy my .02

Torque management makes the transmission shift real nice by killing the power momentarily during the shift. It's more of a drivability thing IMO and it does make the transmission live longer to boot as it takes a lot of the stress off the drive train until the clutch or band is fully applied.
