Lt1 in 1996 Chevy 4X4
So I picked up an lt1 for 300 bucks from a friend and I recently blew the motor in my 96 chevy 1500. I need to know what all it involves to swap these... Ive called tech lines and no one can really answer my question very clearly I know there is some wiring...I do have 4l60 in the truck, what all wiring will I need to do and does the push button 4 wheel drive run through the computer if so how would I make that work as well with the computer from lt1....by the way I do have the entire car which is a 1995 caprice.

I would install GMPerformance crate motor HT383E, part # 17800393. Its a direct replacement, it will run on stock computer tune but for more performance you can get a custom tune. I know its more money for the crate motor but its alot less hassel than installing the lt1.
