Default 83 K20 fuel tank problems

Hi, new guy to the forum and new to chevy trucks.
    I just bought an 83' Scottsdale 4x4 350cui.
has its share of problems, including U-joints and locking hubs, speedometer.
but the biggest problem is the dual tanks. I don't know whats wrong, obviously, found what i think is the switch and and where the wires come to. for now i have a 6gallon tank in the bed thats fed down the the pump. it runs fine, just not very far on the 6gallon. so i'm trying to get these tanks working again.
