Took my '04 Silverado down the track
I finally had an opportunity to take my daily driver down the race track to see what it'll do. The event was Ford vs GM at Speedworld in Phoenix Az on 01.16.10
I ran a total of five passes, progressively getting faster each time. These time slips are the final two passes, racing against a couple 2002-2004 Supercharged Lightnings. The first one I assume was stock, the 2nd had bolt on's, more PSI and tuned. I'm in the right lane both time slips
All of my passes were made on motor only (no nitrous) and with my 90lb each 22" rims & tires on my 4,380lb truck. Please excuse my poor reaction times, I need more practice.
1st pass ever) 14.8 @ 88.8mph, 2.25 60' (Back to the Future, anyone?)
2nd pass) 15.8 @ 88.3mph, 2.42 60' (I just sat & spun tire at the start line)
3rd pass) 14.6 @ 89.3mph, 2.05 60'
4th pass) 14.2 @ 94.6mph, 2.03 60'
5th pass) 14.1 @ 94.6mph, 2.05 60'
If I just had a couple more passes I'm confident I could have broke well into the 13's, but all in all I'm fairly pleased with 14.1sec in the 1/4 mile. But I do need some traction bars, badly. That's my next purchase.

Hey it's good to see you stop by here every once in a while, well I see you got a new grille since last time I saw your truck. Looking great, and those wheels look huge on your truck but I like the look on the track. I don't think that was bad for your first time on the track, I am glad you beat at least one of the FORD's!!! I am just shocked that that was your first time at the track with that truck, but you were probably in a break in period with your motor to. Keep up the great work, and keep us posted!2004 Chevy Colorado

When he looks back in his rear view you can tell he's smiling... I also think that my tires where smoking down the entire track.

That's pretty sweet. I'd say you did really good. In the line up on the first pic I did see some Dodge's, Did they run there too? I think one of my friends would of had a blast there with his 04 Ion Redline since he always wants to race. Although a couple losts and he would be saying he wants a different faster car.Peter
