Currently deployed to Joint Base Balad in Iraq. It isn't too bad here, but could think of many other places I would rather be. Have been here since the beginning of December and will be returning to South Dakota soon. This has been kind of a vacation from the awesome SD winter. They had about 20" of snow over Christmas, temps around 35 below, and more snow and ice right now.

Thanks for your service to our great nation!! It's because of the few like you who who serve that keeps our country the bad ass it is. Stay safe and god bless!!

THANK YOU for all you do for all of us back here. God Bless You & All who are with you.
As for the missing of the northern winters. I can relate! My family and I moved from Iowa to KC to be a bit warmer in the winter and it followed us here but where we used to live had several feet of snow. I like that in the midst of all that you are enduring there you can still think of it as a sort of vacation.
